There’s an outdoor condenser unit with a compressor and a condenser coil that releases heat to the outdoors. The condenser connects to an indoor evaporator coil where heat is absorbed to cool the air.

Here’s where the difference comes in: rather than use a standard blower fan to send the cooled air into a network of metal and plastic ducts, a high velocity AC uses a powerful fan to send the air through small plastic tubing about 2" in diameter. These tubes transport the air through the walls of the house where the high velocity of the air allows it to quickly spread into rooms. These tubes require only a fraction of the space of ductwork and can easily fit into most spaces.
